“Life before Grand Oaks was Naples, FL, and it was deliriously beautiful! All my friends were there, and we lived just three blocks from the Gulf of Mexico.

Being close to my family, especially my children, was a big part of the decision to leave sunny Florida behind. I visited a lot of different senior apartments – eight, I think – and Grand Oaks was the first that had this bright, cheerful energy that made me feel comfortable and at ease. It was hard to say goodbye to Naples, but when I came to Grand Oaks, I knew I had found home again.

I’ve made a lot of new friends here – and I still have my dearest friend in the world of 55 years living one floor above me. There’s just this feeling of togetherness here. Everyone has been so friendly and willing to bring people into their little communities. I’m an incredibly social person, and I love being active and involved. And there’s so many wonderful opportunities to be active here – exercise classes, day trips, and outings!

The staff have been so accessible and attentive, and they’ve been that way from the very first day. I can say that I have real friendships with so many of the staff members here. Everyone wants you to be comfortable and part of life here.
