Respite Care at Grand Oaks

Our respite care suites offer the comforts of home, the amenities of a top hotel, and the expert support of a medical center—all in our upscale community on the Sibley Memorial Hospital campus in the heart of Washington, D.C.

After a medical procedure, injury, or other health-related issue, you’re often ready to leave the hospital before you’re ready to be on your own at home. That’s where Grand Oaks respite care comes in—it’s a 60-day stay in our luxury senior living complex that aids in your rehabilitation and provides you with a peaceful setting for your recovery. We also offer short-term post-surgery stays for those times when you don’t need the full length of a typical respite stay. Either way, we can accommodate you with as little as one week’s notice.

Personalized Respite Care

Our caring and trained nurses on staff will ensure that you enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating stay while you recover. While staying in one of our spacious, bright, private apartments, you’ll receive:

  • 24-hour nursing support customized to your needs.
  • Access to the on-site Johns Hopkins Wellness Program.
  • Assistance as needed with your daily activities such as housekeeping, bathing, dressing, laundry, and transportation.
  • Fresh, nutritious gourmet meals prepared by our executive chef.
  • Safety features in each room in the event you need immediate help.
Stay Connected While You Recover

We focus on your comfort so you can focus on your life during your recovery. You’ll enjoy the lively company of our permanent residents as well as sharing many of the amenities available to them, including access to a full-service beauty salon, business center, chapel, and warm-water pool at Sibley Memorial Hospital.

Make your visitors at home in your large, sun-filled apartment with lovely views of the neighborhood, or socialize in the stylish common areas. We offer a wide variety of activities to meet your interests, ranging from walks and exercise classes, to lectures and book clubs, to concert or theater outings in Washington, D.C.

Everything about our respite care is designed with your peace, relaxation, and overall wellness in mind. If you know you have a medical event on the horizon, even just a week away, talk to us about your options for a sophisticated senior living alternative to in-home nursing.
