Savoring the Season: Inside the Grand Oaks Fall Menu

Oct 22, 2026 | Activities, Caregiver Support, Dining, Featured | 0 comments

At Grand Oaks, there is no better time than the fall season to share a meal with friends and family. Our residents can expect a fall menu from our fine dining team soon, designed to encourage shared meals and the warm feelings the season brings.

Fine dining at Grand Oaks is led by our Executive Chef, Andrew Conlin, who has over 18 years of experience in senior living dining and has been a valued member of the team since 2009. This fall, Chef Andrew and his team have carefully selected ingredients to craft delicious and nutritious meals for residents and their families.

Menu Considerations

Fall blends late summer with hardier vegetables. Cabbage, Swiss chard, and root vegetables pair well with late-summer fruits and pecans. This was one of Chef Andrew’s biggest considerations when creating the menu: the changing season.

“By watching the market and being in tune with the changing season, we at Grand Oaks can provide the freshest possible offerings to our residents,” Chef Andrew said.

Sneak Peek

Looking ahead, residents can expect to find a variety of delicious options ranging from soups to desserts on this upcoming fall menu, including items such as:

  • Coconut Curry Pumpkin Soup
  • Grilled Salmon with Pears
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Apples and Butternut Squash Salad
  • Caramel Apple Cheesecake
  • Cranberry Upside-Down Cake

In addition, Chef Andrew and his team will switch sauces to pair with the proteins served.

  • Apple gravy with Herbs de Provence with pork
  • Calvados sauce with chicken
  • Béarnaise sauce with grilled filet

Our Dining Approach

At Grand Oaks, our restaurant-style dining service lets residents join us in our dining room to greet friends or order room service for some quiet time. Our dining offers residents varied, original menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert, plus beer or wine with meals.

The dining team knows that comfort meals are an important part of the season’s warm, cozy feeling, especially as the weather gets colder. To make the most of the dining experience, we offer dishes our residents really enjoy, like orange chicken and rosemary focaccia with smoked ham and brie at lunch, and at dinner, our residents look forward to the variety on our menu.

“Having a chance to try duck, filet, jumbo lump crab cakes, prime rib, carved turkey, pumpkin pancakes, ora king salmon, tofu stir-fry, and so on, all in one week, keeps things exciting,” Chef Andrew said.

The food on our fall menu is not the only factor in making the most of the experience for residents. We also decorate our dining room to complement the food, and our creative cocktail program pairs well with the seasonal meals.

Gathering This Fall

Food brings people together, and gatherings like the ones this upcoming fall menu will create can make for special memories. Looking back on his time at Grand Oaks, Chef Andrew remembers one special afternoon event focused on apples, even six years later! He recalls preparing all kinds of offerings with Honeycrisps, including:

  • Apple Quinoa Sauté
  • Roast Salmon with Dried Apples
  • Whiskey Cider
  • Apple Cider Donuts

Like many of our other events, this one had an educational component: it taught residents the benefits of adding apple cider vinegar to their diets to help ease digestion.

At Grand Oaks, we know opportunities to spend time with family are limited. That is why we host a monthly buffet and holiday events, so families have more opportunities to dine together. Other community activities are posted on the weekly updates page, and we have a few fall surprises in the making, so keep an eye out!

If you are in search of a senior living community that prioritizes healthy, balanced meals and a vibrant social life for residents, we would love for you to learn more about what our community has to offer.
