Senior Living Community Celebrates ‘Joyful Moments’ During National Observance

Washington, D.C. – A weeklong celebration kicks off this Sunday, September 11, for Grand Oaks Senior Living—National Assisted Living Week®. Officially sponsored by First Quality in 2022, National Assisted Living Week® continues through Saturday, September 17, 2022. This year’s theme is “Joyful Moments.”

With this theme, the Grand Oaks Senior Living team hopes to recognize and celebrate the dedication and contributions of their staff and all who work in assisted living. Further, Grand Oaks Senior Living aims to show appreciation for residents and their deep connections with staff.

Grand Oaks Senior Living staff is adhering to COVID-19 safety requirements and precautions. Activities offered this week include:

  • Squeals on Wheels Traveling Petting Zoo: On Wednesday, September 14, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., residents and staff will enjoy a petting zoo.
  • Assisted Living T-Shirts and Lunch: On Friday, September 16, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., employees will receive a catered lunch.

“Our staff and residents have persevered through the restrictions and changes of COVID-19,” said Jordan Asrat, Director of Activities at Grand Oaks Senior Living. “During National Assisted Living Week, we want to celebrate staff and residents who create joyful moments daily, regardless of the circumstances. Safely engaging with our residents is a rewarding experience for our team and makes a tremendous difference in their lives.”
